Prepare for the ultimate monster cook off
Whether you’ve been watching with joy as your three-star Recon Kai'Sa blasts enemies with her sparkly attacks or crossing your fingers as Urgot attempts to dredge up treasure, Monsters Attack! has been off to an explosive start. Riot regions around the world kicked off their qualifying tournaments earlier this year where we’ll see the crème de la crème make their way to the global championship in May.
Global Championship Info
Monsters Attack! will culminate in a global competition on May 26 - 28. The tournament will be held online for 32 of the best TFT tacticians who have risen to the top in their region’s qualifiers. The winner of the global championship will walk away with $150K USD and the cherry on top of the cake - the coveted golden spatula. The full prize pool is broken down below:
Tournament Format Updates
Exciting news! Please join us in welcoming Southeast Asia (SEA) as a new region in the global competitive ecosystem! With the addition of SEA, we have also updated the number of Regional Seeds that will qualify into the Global Championship. The full breakdown can be found in this dandy chart:
Another update for the Monsters Attack! Global Championship is the introduction of group draws. In previous Sets,
players who have qualified for the event were equally distributed into starting lobbies through a random draw. In
efforts to move toward rewarding players who finish higher in their regional qualifiers, we’ve made the following
updates:
- Players will now be seeded within each region based on their performance
- 4 Tiers have been created based on regional seed allocation
- Tier 1 (4+ seeds): CN, EMEA, NA, KR
- Tier 2 (3 seeds): BR, LATAM, SEA
- Tier 3 (2 seeds): JP, OCE
- Tier 4 (1 seed): Eastern LCQ, Western LCQ
- Based on the Tiers above, first seeds will not be placed in the same initial lobby.
